About this package

operating system credential store backend for tpmd tpmd owns private signing keys and signs on behalf of local applications. . This package provides the `keyring` rung of tpmd's security ladder: the key scalar is kept in the operating system's own credential store (the Secret Service over the session bus on Linux), so a copy of it needs the user's password rather than merely the file's permissions. Signing still happens in the daemon; only the custody of the scalar is stronger than the built-in `file` level. . The backend is a plugin, loaded by tpmd from /usr/lib/tpmd/backends. It owns nothing but that file and works whatever the daemon's version, so installing or removing it never disturbs the agent's own files, and a host with no session bus simply does not offer this rung.
